CHINA NATIONAL SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA PERFORMANCE CANCELED
November 28, 2017 (University of Richmond, VA) – The Wednesday, February 14, 2018 Lunar New Year performance by the China National Symphony Orchestra with artistic director and conductor Tan Dun and special guests Sandy Cameron, violin and Liu Wenwen, suona, presented by Modlin Arts at the Carpenter Theatre, Dominion Energy Center, has been canceled. Refunds will be given at the point of purchase.
Citing security concerns for their more than 100 musicians following the tragedy at the Route 91 festival in Las Vegas, NV, the China National Symphony Orchestra has decided to cancel all performances on their North American tour. The China National Symphony Orchestra apologizes for any inconvenience regarding their cancelation.
The Modlin Center for the Arts endeavors to provide a comfortable and safe environment for our patrons and artists including in venues that are not within the Modlin Center complex. As part of this commitment, the Modlin Center regularly reviews safety and security measures and takes any and all necessary steps to ensure the best experience for our visitors.
