About the Event
Come out and enjoy an afternoon and evening of bands, brews, and bites at Richmond Performing Arts Alliance's annual Parking Lot Party—this year with a twist! In addition to the standard line up, this event will also feature the season finale of the Genworth Lights Up! Youth Series: On the Road with three performing arts workshops for youth ages 3-18.
This festival has entertainment and activities for everyone with performances by local artists the Sweet Potatoes, Carrie Brockwell, and Jeff Beatman with youth workshops facilitated by Jesse the Juggler, Greater Richmond Wolf Trap teaching artist Desirée Dabney, and Latin Ballet of Virginia.
Additional arts activities will take place throughout the course of the day with pop ups by Art on Wheels, Fred Astaire Dance Studios (Short Pump), Pine Camp Cultural Arts and Community Center, and Studio Two Three. Don’t forget to bring your own t-shirt to screen print at the Studio Two Three print truck!
No outside food or beverages will be permitted. 1115 Mobile Kitchen, RVA Street Foodies, and Soul Ice will be on site selling food and refreshments. Free snacks are available to students participating in Lights Up! workshops. Drinks and adult beverages will also be sold.
This event is rain or shine. Feel free to bring your own beach/camping chair! Pets are not permitted at the event with the exception of service animals.
Parking Lot Party is free to attend but donations are welcome in support of RPAA’s BrightLights Education Initiatives, providing accessible arts education to youth throughout the Richmond region.
